Featured Blogger – Amanda Miller of The Miller Affect

Hi everyone…it’s FRIDAY and I know I say this EVERY Friday but I seriously couldn’t be more excited.  This work week has been a bear so the BEST way to end this week is by spending it with my sweet little family.  They are ALWAYS my cherry on top!

Today I have a special guest…Blogger, Amanda Miller of The Miller Affect!  Amanda has become one of my blogging buddies over the last many months and I’m excited to introduce her to those of you who may not know her.  And for those who do, you may not know some things about her (like the fact that she is really good at Mario Cart) so read on and find out a little bit more about this oh so chic fashionista!

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog!

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Miller. My friends would tell you I am a huge nerd. They think anyone who likes to read is a nerd though. I am in my later 20’s (insert crying emoji here), but I still love to dress up! I started The Miller Affect as a way for my childhood friends out in East Texas to be able to still know and shop what I am wearing. Since then, it has become more than I could every imagine!

Who or what has influenced your style most? 

My style icons are definitely Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo. Their styles are just so effortlessly chic. 

What is your style motto? 

If you like it, wear it. Most of the fashion rules you grew up hearing are gone. Be your own fashion icon.

What 1 word describes your style? 

Classic

There are so many influential fashion Designers…if you could wear the clothes of one Designer for the rest of your life, who would it be?

What is your favorite article of clothing?  And what is your ultimate Fall must have?


I have the softest gray, flowy shirt with quarter sleeves. It was probably only $15, but I would wear it every day of my life if I could. I am all about the basics. Fall must have would probably be a great pair of distressed denim.
What would we find hiding in your closet?


I wouldn’t go in there if I were you. Just think of opening the door from your bathroom and finding yourself swimming in clothes and accessories. Spring Cleaning occurs every month at my house. 
What beauty product would we always find in your beauty bag?


Tons of lipsticks for sure. So many that no other beauty products can fit in there.  I feel naked without it. 
Tell us one thing we wouldn’t know about you?

This is hard since I spill everything about me on my blog. I once was in a Mario Cart tournament in college and placed THIRD! Oh, and I am a Harry Potter fanatic. Hmm maybe that’s why my friends call me a nerd???

What one piece of advice would you give to someone considering starting their own blog? 


Patience. You can’t go in thinking you are going to be something huge overnight (like I did). It takes years to establish a name for yourself in the blogging world. 
Gummy bears or sour patch kids? 

This is hard because I had sour patch kids last night.. but I do love gummy bears… TOSS UP!

If you had to estimate, how many pairs of shoes do you have?

ummm 80? These include sandals AND heels AND sneakers, AND boots, right? #help

What 3 words would you use to describe your closet? 

Love, Hate, ____?
