Gingerbread Martini

Christmas is near and our house is abuzz…no pun intended! Each year we make a signature Christmas cocktail and this year, we decided upon a Gingerbread Martini! This dessert martini is not only DELICIOUS but it is also a lot of fun to make.

From chocolate syrup, to vanilla ice cream, to crumbled gingerbread cookies…this is such a treat in a martini glass!

I’m thinking this cocktail will bring you a lot of holiday cheer this holiday season so I hope you will give it a try and spread some cheer to your family and friends.

GINGERBREAD MARTINI

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ounce of Vodka (we like to use Grey Goose)
  • 1 ounce of Bailey’s Irish Cream liquor
  • 1/2 ounce Kahlua liquor
  • Pepperidge Farm Gingerbread Cookies
  • vanilla ice cream (*very soft…not completely melted but super soft)
  • chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream

DIRECTIONS:

Chill your martini glasses in the freezer for a few minutes while crushing some gingerbread cookies for the rim of your glasses. I put the cookies inside of a ziplock bag and crush with a soft mallet. They don’t need to be too fine so don’t crush the cookies until they are sandlike…a few larger crumbles are great too. Transfer to a wide rim bowl.

Pour chocolate syrup into a wide rim bowl and dip the rims of your chilled martini glasses into the syrup and then into the crushed gingerbread cookies. I will then put the glasses into the refrigerator to set the chocolate rim before pouring the cocktail mixture into each glass.

In a shaker with ice, combine the 3 different liquors and shake until well combined. Scoop some vanilla ice cream into each martini glass and then strain the cocktail overtop the ice cream.

Add a scoop of whipped cream, drizzle some chocolate syrup on top, and add a gingerbread cookie on top as well.

Serve and enjoy this delicious Gingerbread Martini…it is truly like a dessert in a glass!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by! See you back here for more holiday recipes and fun Christmas posts this week!
