Decking the Halls with At Home

The day after Thanksgiving, Peter and I head up to the attic to gather our Christmas decorations.  This year when we brought our decorations down, the reality hit that I had actually gotten rid of a lot of our holiday decor when we moved back in August.  So, I stood there looking at just a few small boxes quickly realizing that it was time to shop!
When we moved, we knew we wanted a fresh start so for us that meant everything.  Because we parted with almost all of our old Christmas decor we were left with a beautiful blank slate to work with.  
I was so excited to pick out new decor and I had the best experience shopping for these pieces at At Home.  I had visions in my mind of what I wanted our mantel to look like but I also didn’t know exactly what I would use to achieve it.
If you’ve never shopped At Home, you must!  Their accessories are so unique and you are sure to find what you are looking for or even something better than what you had in mind.  That’s exactly what happened when I was there shopping for holiday decor.  There were sooooo many amazing options that fit nicely with my vision and I enjoyed playing around with various accessories and combinations until I achieved my favorite look with the pieces that I bought.  You should have seen me in the store, I was organizing things on the shelves and switching things in and out as if it were our mantel!  A good two hours later and I was heading home like Santa with a bag full of goodies (well and Santa cam too)!
We spend so much time in our family room so I wanted it to feel warm and cozy, which it does.  Our Christmas tree is to the left of our mantel so it all ties together so nicely and we love sitting in this room, with the fireplace on, spending time together as a family.  This time of year, we are watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows!   Our family room is our favorite room and I just love seeing it decorated for Christmas.
So my reason for redecorating this holiday season was simply because we wanted a fresh start in our brand new home and because I wanted our family room to have that extra warmth to it!  And I’m so glad that I was able to find the perfect pieces at At Home!
